3R-NbS2 is a metal. Note that NbS2 also exists in the 2H-NbS2 phase which is a semiconductor and a superconductor with Tc ~6K. The layers are stacked together via van der Waals interactions and can be exfoliated into thin 2D layers. Niobium Disulfide belongs to the group-V transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDC).
The 3R phase NbS2 crystals produced at HQ Graphene have a typical lateral size of ~0.4 cm, trigonal/hexagonal shaped and have a metallic appearance.
